Great to meet you at SIW 2026

Normid Matkat is a Finnish tour operator designing cultural, experiential and professional travel programmes in Central and Southern Europe.

My name is Matti Ranta-Krenkku. I have worked in European group travel for almost two decades, combining travel planning, guiding, local knowledge and long-term cooperation with trusted partners.

Slovenia has been one of my key destinations for many years. I know the country not only as a travel professional, but also through personal experience: I live between Vienna and the Krka Valley and spend a significant part of my time in Slovenia.

Why Slovenia

For Finnish travellers, Slovenia offers an exceptional combination of landscapes, culture and hospitality: Alpine valleys, Mediterranean towns, vineyards, thermal spas, rivers, forests, historic towns and living local traditions — all within short distances.

I am especially interested in developing travel concepts that go beyond the most obvious highlights and present Slovenia as a diverse, high-quality destination for curious travellers.

Current cooperation interests

At SIW 2026, I am particularly interested in meeting partners connected with:

  • Culture, heritage and historic towns
  • Gastronomy, wine, local producers and food experiences
  • Nature-based experiences and soft outdoor activities
  • Thermal spas, wellness and well-being
  • Professional visits, meetings and thematic study programmes
  • Regional cooperation, especially in lesser-known Slovenian regions

Special interest: Dolenjska and the Krka Valley

One of my current interests is the further development of travel programmes in Dolenjska and the Krka Valley.

The region has strong potential for Finnish travellers through its combination of rivers, small towns, spas, gastronomy, local producers, outdoor activities and authentic rural landscapes.

I am interested in meeting local partners who would like to explore future cooperation, especially in connection with cultural tourism, gastronomy, wellness, outdoor experiences and carefully designed regional programmes.
